Conversation starter:

If we were to get to playoffs and get promotion, who is good enough for premier?

Would we be happy up front, forestieri and hooper look pretty awesome currently, but both have only warmed the bench in the Prem.

Any thoughts?

For me Westwood, lees, pudil, bannan, lee, Wallace, forestieri, hooper and Lucas j would get in 1st team.

01 Apr 2016 09:58:47
Doubtful about Wallace not sure how he gets a game at present started well but fading badly.

I'd have Hutch in and I know all his faults but he's class.

06 Apr 2016 21:21:51
Wallace didn't do too bad against Blackburn in fact he has done well most of his games? / UTO.

Thing about this above comment as soon as someone can reflect and chose things like this they don't remember a player for the season what he does for team they remember any mistakes casting more doubt on the player. I for one believe Wallace would more than manage in the premiership as would most of our players. At one but Joao was attracting apparent interest from Everton but his for drops and no longer. A player can't just have it one min and lose it the next you have to see them as a whole. Wallace brings promotion experience calm head etc to the team so his valuable advice is more than enough to keep him in your squad regardless of what division. this team is he best team I've seen for a long time I don't believe any player deserves any criticism because they've all been ace and to me they can hack it. For 10 min here and there for bench warming for their experiences for their callings influences I could go on but this collective team all plays their part which a team like this would be vital in premiership. UTO.

Bus is on his bike to some obscure Italian outfit. My guess is we won't see him again.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 17:21:46
We now have 4 good CF's, all with different attributes, so I doubt that Bus will be missed at all.

03 Feb 2016 10:27:32
Never got a run in the team, he was one of those bought in a rush on deadline day last year when we suddenly had money. He was starting to look good but then got injured and fell a long way down the pecking order with our summer recruits overtaking him. Good luck to him at his new club.

31 Jan 2016 21:25:18
Dom Howson saying that Wednesday want to make one more signing tomorrow in addition to McGeady, who is having medical tonight.

He also suggests Wiggins might not be the only player moving out.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 13:36:14
Graham Dorrans, serge Gnarby or Watfords Adlene Guedioura?

01 Feb 2016 14:43:57
Most likely Adlene Guedioura, I'm hearing.

Bournemouth have agreed deal with Wednesday to sign left back Rhoys Wiggins.

31 Jan 2016 17:48:27
Been at club not long hope we made profit lol thing is not good enough for us but good enough for prem apparently he's not settled in Sheffield so he wants move on best of luck to him I say.

31 Jan 2016 20:24:28
I'd be quite happy to get back the 750K that he cost us.

01 Feb 2016 14:46:09
Apparently deal worth 200K. We're taking a big hit, if true.
Over 500K loss on a guy who contributed nothing.

02 Feb 2016 07:14:29
Would rather get an unhappy player out and take a hit on his fee than have him sat at the club taking a wage and possibly affecting morale. It's not like we can't afford it anymore. Shame he didn't work out as he seems a good player, he must be if he hasn't played many games and still moves to a premiership club.

30 Jan 2016 14:49:38
McGeady deal back on, according to Sly. Loan till end of season.

Deal completed.

We Will sig Rhodes monday done.

Agree1 Disagree4

30 Jan 2016 00:14:50
It looks like the end of the Rhodes saga, ( something akin to War and Peace re this site! )

Middlesbrough agreed deal with Blackburn for reported 9 million plus a possible 2 million of add-ons.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jan 2016 00:27:35
boro are too srrong now.

31 Jan 2016 13:14:58
Apparently we could have and were willing to match what Boro are paying but we were looking for a summer move rather than in this window. We would need to clear out some of our strikers before signing Rhodes, its one area we have a surplus of players and that will be easier in the summer. Ah well, other targets out there and with Hooper and Forestieri, and Joao and Nuhiu as alternate options we don't have a terrible strike force anyway.

31 Jan 2016 15:59:47
Just when we thought it was all over, it isn't now.
The epic Jordan Rhodes saga continues, as Boro' pull out of the deal.

owls in talks to get Everton duo
Gibson and Mcgeady.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2016 17:21:21
Looks like Mcgeady could be on his way to seville.

30 Jan 2016 08:52:03
Judging by the comments on the Everton site, Gibson would be the better acquisition anyway.

30 Jan 2016 20:49:06
I reckon that we have better holding midfielders than Gibson.
He is way too slow IMO.

25 Jan 2016 19:11:28
Reports suggesting where interested in Liverpool forward Jerome Sinclair 19 years old, for a cut price 3million. Mk dons, Fulham, bristol city and Watford interested.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jan 2016 18:27:28
His contract is up in the summer, when he would cost considerably less, though his signing on fee might be higher. Apparently good in the box but doesn't contribute much elsewhere.

Report that Wednesday have made a second bid for Alan Judge.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2016 14:56:34
Hope so he's class and would give us the complete team to challenge for promotion

23 Jan 2016 21:39:26
If we have made a bid Brentford won't let him go easy because they still played him and he scored today. Can't see us pulling this off, but would be a quality signing if successful.

23 Jan 2016 23:39:27
Sly are reporting that Judge is unhappy at Brentford because his valuation, £8 million is pricing him out of the market.

I can't see us paying anything like that so he won't be moving anywhere unless Brentford drop the price significantly.

24 Jan 2016 03:40:53
Unless they can't afford to keep paying his wages?

24 Jan 2016 08:43:55
Apparently Wednesday agreed to triple his wages, according to a Brentford source, hence methinks he's unhappy. They have offered a new contract to him, but not on terms in line with their inflated valuation. Possibly a summer mover?

22 Jan 2016 10:19:05
Hooper deal completed!

{Ed023's Note - Very good move for ye}

Sky report that Norwich have agreed to sell Hooper to Wednesday.
Deal should be concluded tomorrow.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jan 2016 19:53:12
Was about to post this too. Good news I think, he is starting to show some form and get in the goals, if him and Forestieri keep scoring as they are this season will end with us comfortably in the play-offs and maybe better. In other news I have heard that the Rhodes enquiry was just that, an enquiry. Middlesborough were the other club who expressed their interest again after trying to sign him in the summer and we were just checking what we would need to bid if he became available. If he does come I would have thought he would be a summer signing rather than in this window.

20 Jan 2016 20:45:14
Maybe Blackburn bringing in Graham would indicate that Rhodes is on the move, I just doubt that it will be to us.
Now that Hooper is match fit he is looking like a good out and out goal scorer.
I really do hope that we sign him.

21 Jan 2016 00:12:28
Hooper on his way tomorrow CC choice but D.C.listening to fans and hoping to finance Rhodes deal as well could be true??

21 Jan 2016 09:10:14
I think many fans, though recognising Rhodes ability to score goals, are realistic. If we did attempt to sign a £12 million player on say 40k per week where would that leave us re FFP? Unless we got promoted we might well end up being scuppered in the transfer market next year.

21 Jan 2016 10:13:03
With FFP I believe your income is what can spend or whatever. No amoun has been disclosed on the amount DC sponsored shirts for. There's a little loophole he's used by doing that. Also he can always sponsors training ground for X amount I believe. Atm he's got areas to work around it but he needs fans backing. This is what I'm told anyway and it seems perfectly understandable.

21 Jan 2016 12:46:58
FFP rules are another reason why I think this will be a summer signing rather than in this window, that's a new financial year in football terms.

21 Jan 2016 14:55:10
CC has referred to Rhodes rumours as fantasy and has said that such fees are beyond our budget.

21 Jan 2016 17:13:37
Yes it's official CC says not got the funds required for Rhodes, but if I remember the start of the season we supposedly offered£14million for McCormack, anybody remember that?

21 Jan 2016 19:38:13
It's refreshing to know that CC is sticking to his budget and is not prepared to sink us into a bottomless financial pit, as other owners have done before.
If Rhodes is so great, why has a Premiership club not signed him already?
£12 million is a lot of dosh for the Championship, but peanuts for the Premiership.

21 Jan 2016 19:43:08
To answer that.
He spent £10 million pre season, so his budget has obviously dropped now.
His spending is why we are where we are right now.
I ain't going qualify for Countdown, but the math is simple.
Mandaric saved us, but Chansiri is giving us something to believe in, and a prospect of the top league.

21 Jan 2016 20:49:05
What happened to the Aiden Mcgeady signing is that dead in the water I know everyone is hoping for Rhodes to sign but Mcgeady could be the best signing after Forestieri he's a proper Winger who skins defenders for fun.

21 Jan 2016 21:39:27
If McGeady was that good SWEZ, where are all the offers from the premiership clubs? McGeady himself has said that he wants to remain in the Premiership and is on huge wages, rumoured to be £1.5 million p. a. Given the price tag, I would be happy to invest elsewhere.

22 Jan 2016 00:41:43
I agree on McGeady, he would be useful, as we need another winger.
Not that my opinion is worth owt.

22 Jan 2016 01:10:12
Plus McGeady is proven in the premiership as apposed to Rhodes.
Common sense and a no brainier, really.

22 Jan 2016 08:10:22
Swansea have approached Blackburn apparently lol.

22 Jan 2016 08:14:10
Rhodes has gone backwards, we've gone forwards.

McGeady past his best, Need somebody younger, more eager and quicker!

19 Jan 2016 09:14:21
Near to loan signing of left side defender, Joe Bennett, from Aston Villa.

Cover for Pudil, perhaps. There is talk of Wiggins being linked with Bristol City.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jan 2016 11:38:37
Bristol city have just signed a left back from Wolves, Golborne, so I suppose that will end their interest in Wiggins.

17 Jan 2016 18:38:08
Being linked with aiden mcgeady Everton asking for 4million and not keen to loan. Also hooper getting close to completing his transfer, hopefully a full transfer.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 jan 2016 17:28:37
owls getting rhodes on ssn.

18 Jan 2016 19:02:48
For £12 million? Forget it. If we get Hooper I think we'll lose interest in Rhodes.

Blackburn are going nowhere this season, they have had all their parachute payments and they will need to get the wage bill trimmed. I expect Rhodes' value to decrease, if they don't sell him in this transfer window particularly as he isn't scoring at the moment.

18 Jan 2016 20:24:40
Can't see this happening can't agree a price for hooper. and wages seem to be a problem for a lot of linked players, that's why they brought the 3 year season tickets out now to increase fanicial fair play budget, but will that be enough to increase the budget enough to get the defender, midfielder, forward where after, If we spend 12mil on l player?

18 Jan 2016 22:42:44
The old Rhodes saga, again?
Maybe Koumas?

19 Jan 2016 08:16:32
Your saying old Rhodes saga again matey and I was one of firsts usually to say get a grip and move on from Rhodes. But in all fairness to the guys above ssn HAS actually said we are interested. Never happened before so it's closest we've had in all rumours to be true regarding Rhodes. I'm just hoping we don't give up on hooper now I was sceptical on him at first but I admit I was wrong and I hope we sign him permanently otherwise my old saying will be back (loaning players they score and value goes up making it harder to sign) hope this doesn't happen with hooper. UTO.

19 Jan 2016 08:50:14
Would be great to get Rhodes, but it just never seems to happen.

19 Jan 2016 16:09:30
I wonder if the plan is to keep forestieri on left with Rhodes and hooper upfront jeeeeseeee I'd hate to defend against that lol.

19 Jan 2016 18:04:07
It's a nice prospect but I if given the choice of the two, I would prefer Hooper to sign with a more realistic price tag.

17 Jan 2016 18:28:03
A crap tabloid are suggesting that Wednesday are prepared to pay £4 million for Aiden McGeady the Everton winger.

Agree1 Disagree2

17 Jan 2016 14:50:32
Apperently where intrested in 23 year old conor Washington for 5million from Peterborough. Along with derby, QPR, Birmingham etc he scored 12 goals in his last 14 games.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Jan 2016 18:54:00
Doubt we'll pursue this unless Hooper deal falls through.

18 Jan 2016 19:10:59
QPR have had a £3 million bid accepted for him according to Sly, so forget this one if true.

15 Jan 2016 23:37:08
Owls trying to sign Pudil on a permanent basis from Watford, according to reports tonight.

Agree5 Disagree0

15 Jan 2016 15:00:35
Reports suggest the Davies deal broke down due to medical background, and we've switched our attentions towards max power, but we may face competition from derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2016 16:37:44
Everybody is aware of Davies lengthy spells on the treatment table but we still made a deal and set up our own medical. I don't understand why the medical did not actually take place, whether we called it off or Bolton or Davies did.
Are we actually saying he wasn't fit enough to take a medical?

If there was an agreement to leave him out on Tuesday night was because we wanted him, he should have had the medical.

15 Jan 2016 16:50:20
We've cancelled it apparently he's had no medical but his agent is sayin we've said medical reasons. The initial stumbling block was him wanting severance from Bolton which was resolved but the owls have had a change of heart according to green Un.

15 Jan 2016 23:09:46
We're being reported to the Football League re our conduct in this transfer, so I'm sure the facts will come out.

16 Jan 2016 07:13:44
What happened when a club gets reported for this? I have no idea on a plus note looks like we trying to turn Pudils deal into a permanent one UTO.

17 Jan 2016 00:58:57
Deffo, best left back since Roland Nilson.

17 Jan 2016 13:03:53
Sorry LMN Roland was a right back. LB was Worthy, swapping positions with Kingy.

17 Jan 2016 15:00:55
Oops, good spot.
Never mind.

17 Jan 2016 18:40:32
Definitely the best LB we've had in years.

17 Jan 2016 19:09:46
Could say the same about most positions this season, which is nice.

18 Jan 2016 14:40:37
I think that it's down to the club seeing the players true mentality and pulling out. I wasn't impressed with his name being linked to us as I don't think he's any better than what we already have, but carlos has put such a price tag on the right mentality it seems to make sense.

15 Jan 2016 01:17:22
will aimson to blackpool :)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 18:42:17
Supposedly interested in max power, James tavernier, matryn wagorn, can't see them all signing but could be true?

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Jan 2016 21:48:55
As we've just signed right back in Jack Hunt, I can't see us bidding for Tavernier. Wagorn has done exceptionally well in Scotland but didn't impress with Wigan. Power went to Wigan last summer having been at Tranmere for years andleft as they dropped into the Conference League.

All three therefore have a connection with Wigan. Coincidence perhaps but possibly agent (s) trying to whip up interest or trying to get them better deals with their clubs.

15 Jan 2016 09:04:07
Deal dead. Let's move on. I prefer McGugan anyway.
