Cooper can not agree role with SWFC, nothing to do with terms. Basically wanted as a front man (fall guy) with Roeder and Carvalhal selecting players behind the scenes.
Been mentioned that Cooper was an attempt to appease fans who are unlikely to be appeased by what is coming through the door.
Roeder is in sole charge of selection of players and Carvalhal given role of formatting them into team.

As stupid and disappointing as this 'news' is, it looks like its very true and SG won't have been comfortable with that either. Certain that he has walked considering the amount of time it has taken and we are no closer to a replacement.

Plus somebody is signing players.

2.) 26 Jun 2015 19:57:10
No reason to doubt Frankel, everything fits!
Personally I'm hoping the Cooper talks collapse totally.
That would put extra pressure on Roeder with pre-season looming and hopefully Mr Chansiri would ask himself serious questions about Roeder and the advice he's giving him.
It might mean we don't get off to that flying start we were all hoping for, but the future would look a lot brighter without Roeder, Cooper and Carlos too if its not already too late to dump him.

3.) 26 Jun 2015 20:27:24
agree with all this (especially that des fella) but really disappointing that the best we hope for is that it goes terribly wrong for us, to jolt DC into action.

Compared to the end of the season optimism. We will be fine in the long run I'm sure, but already feeling like a rollacoaster.

4.) 26 Jun 2015 20:47:52
The sooner Roeder leaves/sacked the better why not get Malky McKay

5.) 27 Jun 2015 10:40:11
I said a few days ago that I would rather take a chance CC and forget Cooper. If you are going to have the european committee structure you need a european manager used to working with the system. Cooper was never good enough

6.) 27 Jun 2015 10:48:19
You can't get Malky off his phone no time to manage always texting

7.) 30 Jun 2015 14:47:34
loads of negative tripe from people trying to rock the boat before it even sets sail. The window is just opening and we have no real idea of who's coming in. As far as I'm concerned let's give these new guys running the club a chance to show what they can do. Another season of mid-table security and unattractive football, trying to play safe, doesn't really appeal to me so big changes had to be made!

8.) 30 Jun 2015 18:49:30
It may be negative but it's no more 'tripe' than most of the positive stuff. Deal with the facts.
The facts are tripe. So far

Gray was offered choice of going or being Carvalhal assistant. He chose to go.
Other issues
Roeder has indicated funds required to get promoted and this is way short of what any sensible coach would think is necessary. He indicated would be easy to get quality coach through door, this is proving difficult as those approached do not want to work for as assistant to chap who has not worked for 3 years.
Roeder not been actively involved in football for 7 years his links to game had gone cold except for little bit of voluntary work with Leyton Orient. Somehow got connected to Thai advisors first Vincent Tan now Chansiri.
His lack of real contacts in game have led to us speaking/being at mercy to agents hence shafted with second rate Portugal coach.
Only Cooper has shown any slight interest of working with this guy and that is because he has fell out with assistant boss Williams at Swindon who is apparently the one responsible for getting Swindon to play football. Cooper record prior to Swindon was poor/ordinary. This is well known in football circles but Roeder out of loop.
Having difficulty closing deals because Roeder indication of funds required to build team was wildly optimistic.
Feel sorry for Chansiri who has been given false idea of what can be achieved on relatively low budget, unfortunately will end up costing him a lot more unless he changes tack quickly.
Roeder and ridiculous coach who have been signed have to go. Nothing wrong with having a DoF but you need right man for job not one from football graveyard who has failed in every position in management he has attempted and is not well respected in football community. He will end up appointing others like himself who have not worked for years in task they are being asked to do.
Came from coaching source inside club.
Very worried.

1.) 21 Jun 2015 10:24:22
Thanks for sharing the insight Frankel, it endorses what bits I have been told.
You will see from my many posts I share your concerns about Roeder and the "advice" he is giving to Mr Chansiri.
Regardless of DC's lack of football knowledge , he can't be stupid, and I don't believe that he won't be seeing red flashing lights already where Roeder is concerned?
Surely Paul Aldridge will be looking out for DC and giving him warnings, I thought that was why he was staying on for a while?
We can only hope things change quickly (Roeder goes!) before DC and the name of the club becomes a laughing stock.

2.) 21 Jun 2015 10:40:05
The events unfolding at Hillsborough over the last few weeks have been nothing short of disastrous. First we're told that we're going to be in the premier league within 2 years and the chairman/owner is prepared to pay whatever it takes. We all know this isn't going to happen by his so far running of the club and his appointments but I do understand he obviously had to say only positive stuff during his first press conference. He then sacks Stuart Gray which is his choice but for what? To supposedly replace him with some bloke that's Simply a journey man manager that's hardly got a record worthy of being the man to take us forward. Even this saga is dragging on and on. Maybe it's now obvious why Adam Pearson jumped ship so soon after his appointment? Now it's the Mark Cooper saga that's making all the negative headlines. Yet another very average lower league manager linked with us. We all expected good and positive things from this takeover but I've now got my doubts and really can't see us improving as a team or club. I also find it very odd that the chairmans first structural change was to put his name on the front of our shirt. Yet again I fear for our once great club.

3.) 21 Jun 2015 10:40:31
The only loop Roeder knows about is the one that should be tightening around his neck he is a total waste of space. Mr Chansiri you need to ditch him and quickly before he does too much damage. Makes you wonder if Pearson left because of Roeder.

4.) 21 Jun 2015 13:11:28
We obviously haven't got the player budget to attract a proven coach, he wouldn't be my choice but I would sooner we turned to John Sheridan than Cooper, at least the faithful would give him a chance. If Cooper comes in and it starts badly its going to turn nasty.

5.) 21 Jun 2015 15:32:15
It makes you wonder what Roeder has told Chansiri about the cost of getting into the premiership, you would assume conservative estimates would be 15 to 20 million, Roeder has probably told him about 2 to 5 million if that. I think we have got to buy or loan in 10 players and that depends on whether Loovens, Semedo and co re sign. It will be a good pre season in Portugal although the costs will come down with every one on a mini bus

6.) 22 Jun 2015 03:57:06
I'm praying we don't get either Carvalhal or Cooper there's plenty of good managers we could be going for Big Sam, Gus Poyet or Zola they're the type of Manager that can attract big name players not an unknown foreigner and a league 1 manager that's done nothing.

7.) 22 Jun 2015 17:49:40
Big Sam would cost about 5 million a year, so I can't see that happening. Did Sunderland really improve over the season Poyet was in charge? I think not

It seems we've already got Carvalhal so its a case of who's going to work with him. John Sheridan is out of work, and would be £150,000 cheaper than Cooper. A pity Paul Cook went to Portsmouth as I was always impressed when listening to him, but then again hardly a name to attract top players.

8.) 22 Jun 2015 19:29:11
Been picking up some very bad vibes since the sacking of Gray. Players haven't signed new contracts and apparently are wanting to jump ship i.e. McGuire and Loovens (can't really blame them from the so-called new management names being mentioned! How can Cooper possibly be better than a guy who brought about that long lost feelgood factor to S6 and steadied the ship in turbulent waters on a shoe-string budget, obtaining championship mid-table comfort? Who the hell is that unknown portugese bloke who hasn't done anything in his years of flitting from club to club with nothing worthwhile in terms of silverwear to show for it. Has a nice c.v. in terms of sackings and resignations. not!! Was really looking forward to next season. not any more! Nice spanking new screen in place to watch defeat after defeat! Really unhappy!!

9.) 22 Jun 2015 20:36:12
Sheridan would at least get the fans behind him but is he still a big enough name to attract players. Why pay money for Cooper I would rather take my chances with the Portuguese guy.

10.) 22 Jun 2015 20:36:47
Poyet took Brighton up and then got them into the Championship Play Offs first season you can't judge him by what happened at Sunderland they've struggled for the past 5 years Jose Mourinho would have his work cut out at Sunderland.

Wedesday ae back in alks with Qatari who was interesed in buying Wednesday before Mammadov came along.
Talks been ongoing for a week.
Will update if here our talks are going.
This is accurate information.
I do not know if MM is speaking to other interested parties but may well be doing so.

Frankel

1.) MM said when things looked to breaking down that there were 2 parties still talking to him in case things with HM broke down so I would expect that these 2 parties would now try and push their proposals forward

2.) Cardiff checking out sg for next manager someone saying on radio as anyone else heard anything they can't have him

3.) Tony Pullis favourite for Cardiff job he is welsh.

4.) Can't help but feel nervous every time someone gets the sack. SG's work cannot have gone unnoticed, he must surely be on many clubs radar as future management material. Fingers crossed he can see the potential at Hillsborough and will stay to finish what he's started. Premier league football is not beyond the realms of possibility is it? You have to have a dream! WTID

5.) 19 Sep 2014 13:39:03
Tony Pulis and Vincent Tan does not seem a potentially harmonious relationship - more like a declaration of war. It would certainly be interesting.

6.) No way will SG leave the massive, he will take us to the top flight. As long as MM backs him or a takeover happens with people who are prepared to invest and back SG we will make it. I know if I had the money I would back SG to the hilt, he knows what he wants and he knows what he is doing, best manager in the championship UTO

7.) Another great result today, only 1 - 0 but once again one of the fancied teams. Cardiff next week if we can get something there we have to fancy our chances for a playoff position. I know its early days but we are seriously looking good UTO

8.) 21 Sep 2014 14:51:15
Wasn't at the game yesterday, had to work. But I'm told by friends that did go that the reference had a shocker. Even Alan Biggs not known as a Owls supporter said 3 certain penalties turned down and SG who considered when he speaks said the crucial 50/50 decisions didn't go our way. I have been told today that Mark Haywood the ref yesterday, was born on the Herdings Estate and is a life long Blades fan. If and I can't confirm that it is true how the heck does the FA allow a Blades fan to ref an Owls game.
They would never allow an Everton fan to ref a Liverpool.

9.) 21 Sep 2014 23:09:00
Mark Haywood was born in West Yorkshire

10.) 22 Sep 2014 08:15:11
I have since been told and confirmed it by looking at his profile on the net that Heywood was born in Northwich, Cheshire, but my mate is adamant that he lived in the Herdings/Greenhill area before moving to West Yorks. My work mate comes from the same area and says he knew him.

11.) Whereever the ref comes from he was poor. It was a blatant penalty when Pearce handled in area. Linesman was looking at incident feedback on them will be poor and careers will suffer. Replay on football league show was excellent in it made Steve Evans out to be a bag of wind and showed us in good light for not moaning about decisions we should have had.

12.) It was the Lino on the South Stand side, he looked about 88 years old, just couldn't keep up with the play, Only flagged after the ref made a decision first.

13.) 22 Sep 2014 13:33:43
frankel - is it just me or does Steve Evans looked like a pantomime dame. Every time I see him I imagine him in a dress as one of the ugly sisters in Cinderella. I can't help it.

14.) Steve Evans IS Widow T****ey

15.) Widow twankey - that's who I meant. (oh no it isn't!!). Where are Rotherham in the league ( their behind you!!). Errr that's all I've got.

{Ed001's Note - sorry the swear filter put in the stars in the previous post, I removed them this time. I will have to get that fixed.}

16.) 24 Sep 2014 17:01:17

The defence has got weaker each game we have played. Heard quite a bit of unease in players and team spirit which was so strong has started to falter. It was inevitable we would struggle you can not appoint two serial failures in management and expect to produce a winning team. Chansiri will be reluctant to admit he has dropped a real clanger in management selection but the quicker he removes current incumbents the sooner recovery will begin. It would be a bonus if he got rid of Bullen as well as he was always weak link of previous coaching set up.

Only 5 players are allowed to play (matchday squad) who are on loan. We already have Hunt, Pudil, Turner, Sasso, Lopez,if we sign another some one is to miss out.

I have seen all games this season either live or full match replay on player. Lots saying when we settle we will improve personally think they have deteriorated from first game of season. Hope we improve but fear the worst. One saving grace is I do not think Chansiri will exercise much patience if team do not improve.

No hope of signing anybody now. Absolutely unbelievable signed 15 players and no proven goal scorer. We have signed Frostieri, Pudil, Turner, McGugan and Hunt who are good players and a promising player in Joao. The rest to me look unsuited to Championship. Also I know folks say give team time but if first impressions not good very few turn it around and to my eyes we have deteriorated each game. In last game defence appeared to have lost confidence which they acquired last season.
Carvalhal sounded lost in interview after Middlesbrough game and it was not an encouraging sign.
Can anyone truthfully say football we have seen is the attacking entertaining football Carvalhal was brought in to provide.

Wallace would be fair addition to squad good to be able to bring him off bench. Only Jack Hunt of those signed would be good enough for a reasonable team.

Hearing there are to be changes in backroom staff with a move for Roeder from current role likely. Someone posted he is to leave but understood just change of job. Apparently Chansiri has become aware of fiasco that has been going on at Hillsbrough. Carvalhal safe for time being but rejig of committee with one new name coming in, probably 2. Could have new manager before start of season. Switched to double training sessions this week which is what Gray did in pre season training first week did not go well.

Apparently questions have been asked of wider football community of recent changes and feedback was not good, apparently set alarm bells ringing.

Think Chansiri went along with Roeder and appointed Carvalhal and his team and got rid of Gray. Roeder is behind the suggestions and unfortunately I suspect he will not have long to wait to realise what an expensive mistake has been made. Think Chansiri was told by his advisors appointment of Carvalhal has gone down badly with fans hence the wait and announcement at stupid time. Apparently our new coach is brushing up his English as its currently not great. To try and sweeten effect even tried to bring in English coach to make it more palatable unfortunately they selected coaches with dodgy records and even they would not accept role in new set up. For confirmation read announcement has any manager / head coach ever been announced in such an apologetic (have trust in decision) manner. If he does not start well it will be rough and I suspect/hope he will take Roeder with him.

Prepare your self for a long list of journeyman footballers being signed. Long season of struggle ahead.

A few are trying to say negative comments are ones against Chansiri. Nothing could be farther from the truth someone with access to his ear needs make him aware that Roeder has a dodgy record in management at best and no proven record as scout, He wanted to be a DoF for 6 years and no one would have him which I think says it all. Cooper may have qualities but there is nothing obvious which says they would be a success at Championship level and long drawn out process does not augur well. Carvalhal has problem of not working as coach for 3 years which just rings alarm bells. The system set up can work but you need a DoF that knows what he is doing and a coach proven at this level. Actually think we had one of few coaches who would have been happy to work in this role.
If we are looking for good young British manager Gary Rowett has excellent record. Valencia coach Ian Cartho, Moyes assistant Billy McKinlay others who could work in this scenario but not much experience in Championship.
DoF role is difficult but think some one like Chris Turner, Terry Burton (still lives in Sheffield) should be looked at. Certain candidates are available from abroad but do not have sufficient knowledge to make comment.
Sorry for long response but feel alternatives should be offered if you criticise what appears to be happening.

Mandaric had already owned clubs in this country previously, hence does not have to prove redibility. This chap lives in Azejaiban and very busy person. Hence comment re difficulty of communication due totime zone.
