Watford game:
Worst performance of the season in the first half - lightweight in midfield and no punch up front, although Madine was the pick of the bunch ( certainly put himself about ). Dreadful out wide - that poor lad from Everton was clearly out of his depth. Maghoma still not good enough for me. Hasn't learned when to release it !
Second half was galvanised by the inclusion of Drenthe. Gave us width, pace and strength. Loved some of the crosses he wiped in - although I suspect we may have to put up with the odd wayward shot from a distance.
Is it time to switch from 2 in midfield and 2 wide, to a more solid 3 in the middle ? Although Coke goes awol sometimes, he is still the most capable we have - just wish he would study some videos on Lampard and learn how to get in the box more often.
Also thought May looked better on the ball when he played behind the 2 strikers late on ! Food for thought ! Although I know some will say he isn't getting the service, his hold-up play isn't good.
Will be interesting to see how SG rings the changes for Brentford - could bring Buxton back in ? Maguire for definite !
