So now the season has really got going, what do you all think of the way Wednesday are playing? Big man, little man combination up front, but a lot of defending deep and hitting the big man early looking for flick ons. It gets results, but it is not the prettiest to watch, but does anyone care so long as the results come?

I personally think we still need a creative midfielder to dictate the play in center of the park

Excellent start to the season, especially given the quality of opponents we've faced. Would agree with the previous post, centre midfield is an area for concern but we're difficult to beat and carry a real goal threat. Playoffs are a realistic target. Mon the owls!

While we have a goal threat the forwards need to score a few more of the chances they are getting. We are getting in good positions in the oppositions area but then fluff half the chances. Hopefully Nuhiu finds the goal scoring touch he had in the first few games and also May finds his feet and starts to bang them in consistently. At least the defence is good this year so we are not shipping many goals which was our downfall in many games last year.

I agree creative mid and another quality striker needed , squad is small but all in all good start , far better than we all expected after the takeover fiasco

5.) 12 Oct 2014
I think with the small squad a lot of people were very negative and were looking at the bottom of the table, but with a small squad I think the team spirit is higher. Yes we could still do with some patching up in some areas, as most people have said a creative midfielder would be good and maybe a bit more cover for defence. I was surprised we haven't made too much use of the loan market this year, although SG might be saving that for the christmas period when we might need a few extra bodies with the fixture congestion that happens at that time.

I think lee returning will add a pass to the midfield.

For me the outstanding stat is the lack of goals conceded. Amazing defensive performances. Showing some great depth too.

Not convinced that Madine fits in, even from bench. The front two seem unchallenged, maybe when lavery comes back??

7.) 14 Oct 2014
Madine a good option from the bench, yes Nuhiu and May are definite first choice but while both Nuhiu and Madine are big guys they play in a different style and so Madine offers something different off the bench if the first plan isn't working.

Lavery even more so.
I think he will bag a few for us later on in the season when he is really needed.
