Bardao, Andrews, Johnson, Best and Tardieu.
what have we got?

Bardao
Over the hill with no English experience, coming for the cash. OR experienced goal scorer who plays well with his back to goal and good in the air.

Andrews.
Another past his best journeyman looking for one last pay day OR Experienced midfielder, eye for a goal, good at keeping the ball, strong and a leader.

Johnson
See above.

Best
a nearly man, a quite never was, potential unfulfilled, lazy and arrogant OR Somebody that the penny has dropped, now knows where the net is, still has pace and strength, could do us a job.

Tardieu
Another youngster who had potential, playing for a crap team in a crap league, another to stick in the stiffs with McCabe and Cory so why why why OR A diamond in the ruff, best player at his club, needs the best bringing out of him SG is the man.

I really don't know the answers, I have MY opinions but what do others see?

Leave it to sg decision he knows what team he wants so probably has scouts who know a lot more than any of us . Otherwise we would be a scout/manager. But only start moaning (if) we have a rubbish start after 5 games into season. From the look of fixtures and used to supporting the owls i'd be happy with 8pts by then!

SG will stand or fall by these decisions so he must know what he wants and what he can afford.

I'm happy to leave it to him and support him and the boys as always.

I suppose that's the great thing about football - peoples opinions.

Of all the 5 mentioned has anyone heard this from S. G or is it just paper talk again. hopefully the latter

I think the beauty of football is everybody has a different opinion. The key is to have a team which functions. Gray got the best out of team last year but high tempo pressing game requires ultra fit hardy players. Injury prone players will soon be found out. In last few games of last season it was clear tank was empty on few players, not surprising as we were using them over and over again. I look at players mentioned and see if they fit this mould if not assume its not true or we are being offered them by agent. Age doesn't matter as long as legs are still functioning.
I know Andrews was a good player and was part of play off team last year but could not comment on capability.
Understand all of players above except two frenchmen have worked with Gray before and a manager always gets linked with that type of player, so may be no truth in any of those links.

I think you have to give SG his due he brought back Maguire and he seems to be a manager that players will play for.
This could be a season when a few of the youngsters could break through.

Re Teat Owl (thought provoking handle that) posers above.

Brandao - avoid, over the hill.
Andrews - on balance avoid.
Johnson - short term contract.
Best - not the man we want/need - avoid.
Tardieu - worth giving a chance to the guy.

Any other views.

Great post, provides balance.

Take over is adding so much to the unknown. Are these players ones we are looking at now, or after takeover confirmed?
