Deal should be concluded tomorrow.

Was about to post this too. Good news I think, he is starting to show some form and get in the goals, if him and Forestieri keep scoring as they are this season will end with us comfortably in the play-offs and maybe better. In other news I have heard that the Rhodes enquiry was just that, an enquiry. Middlesborough were the other club who expressed their interest again after trying to sign him in the summer and we were just checking what we would need to bid if he became available. If he does come I would have thought he would be a summer signing rather than in this window.

Maybe Blackburn bringing in Graham would indicate that Rhodes is on the move, I just doubt that it will be to us.
Now that Hooper is match fit he is looking like a good out and out goal scorer.
I really do hope that we sign him.

Hooper on his way tomorrow CC choice but D.C.listening to fans and hoping to finance Rhodes deal as well could be true??

I think many fans, though recognising Rhodes ability to score goals, are realistic. If we did attempt to sign a £12 million player on say 40k per week where would that leave us re FFP? Unless we got promoted we might well end up being scuppered in the transfer market next year.

With FFP I believe your income is what can spend or whatever. No amoun has been disclosed on the amount DC sponsored shirts for. There's a little loophole he's used by doing that. Also he can always sponsors training ground for X amount I believe. Atm he's got areas to work around it but he needs fans backing. This is what I'm told anyway and it seems perfectly understandable.

FFP rules are another reason why I think this will be a summer signing rather than in this window, that's a new financial year in football terms.

CC has referred to Rhodes rumours as fantasy and has said that such fees are beyond our budget.

Yes it's official CC says not got the funds required for Rhodes, but if I remember the start of the season we supposedly offered£14million for McCormack, anybody remember that?

It's refreshing to know that CC is sticking to his budget and is not prepared to sink us into a bottomless financial pit, as other owners have done before.
If Rhodes is so great, why has a Premiership club not signed him already?
£12 million is a lot of dosh for the Championship, but peanuts for the Premiership.

To answer that.
He spent £10 million pre season, so his budget has obviously dropped now.
His spending is why we are where we are right now.
I ain't going qualify for Countdown, but the math is simple.
Mandaric saved us, but Chansiri is giving us something to believe in, and a prospect of the top league.

What happened to the Aiden Mcgeady signing is that dead in the water I know everyone is hoping for Rhodes to sign but Mcgeady could be the best signing after Forestieri he's a proper Winger who skins defenders for fun.

If McGeady was that good SWEZ, where are all the offers from the premiership clubs? McGeady himself has said that he wants to remain in the Premiership and is on huge wages, rumoured to be £1.5 million p. a. Given the price tag, I would be happy to invest elsewhere.

I agree on McGeady, he would be useful, as we need another winger.
Not that my opinion is worth owt.

Plus McGeady is proven in the premiership as apposed to Rhodes.
Common sense and a no brainier, really.

Rhodes has gone backwards, we've gone forwards.

McGeady past his best, Need somebody younger, more eager and quicker!
